Annual Hamlin Fistula Soup Lunch

Sunday 7th July, 10am @ Byron Bay

Each year Bangalow Byron Bay Uniting Church fundraises for the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation with an annual Soup Lunch Fundraiser.

This foundation funds Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia, a world-class centre of excellence for treating obstetric fistulas and training doctors to specialise in this surgery. Founded by Dr Catherine Hamlin, Catherine Hamlin Fistula Foundation is an independent charity established to raise funds and awareness for Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia to eradicate obstetric fistula, and support partnership development.  The vision of the foundation is to support her mission to eradicate fistula. Forever.

Rehabilitation services such as physiotherapy, counselling and skills training are available to assist women to regain their self-esteem, find meaningful employment and reintegrate to village life.

This is one way that we seek to live out our Mission of "Loving God and loving our neighbours." In this case our global neighbours.

All are invited to join us for this special occasion where we will have a time of worship and reflection with opportunities to hear of this life changing work. We will then join in for a soup lunch with a range of soups available, along with some tasty desserts and sweets. Please come prepared to donate generously.
